Winners of the 2018 Student Design Competition

The BC Water and Waste Association is excited to announce the results of the 2018 Student Design Competition (SDC):

• First Place: DTE
• Second Place: The Streamliners
• Third Place: Full Stream Ahead

Thank you to all the teams that entered for your participation and hard work!

Team DTE is made up of the following individuals: Johnson Li, James Craxton, Steven Rintoul, and Lutz Subagio. They will go on to present at the BCWWA 46th Annual Conference & Trade Show in Penticton, and compete at WEFTEC 2018 in New Orleans, Louisiana this fall. These events represent excellent exposure to potential industry employers.

A special thank you the City of Penticton for providing an engaging problem statement and supporting data for the teams to base their designs on. Thank you also to the advisors, judges, and volunteers involved with preparing the problem statement: Len Robson, Ian Chapman, Brent Edge, Mitch Moroziuk, Stu Mould, Tara White, Camille Rivard-Sirois, Noboru Yonemitsu, Allan Bronsro, Robert Miller, Gregory Lawrence, Brent Baron, Len Block, Clive Leung, Dwayne Meredith, Mike Homenuke, Michael MacLatchy, and John Van der Erden, and the BCWWA SDC Committee.

And finally, thank you to our sponsors Kerr Wood Leidal, AECOM, McElhanney, UBC, Evoqua, and Nilex for their generous support of the competition and the next generation of water leaders.
